Ponda City

Ramnath temple ponda, goaThe city of Ponda can be without doubt labeled as the heart of Hinduism in Goa. When the Hindus deserted their coastal settlements and moved towards the interiors during the Portugal inquests, a majority of them settled in Ponda. Ponda can also be called as the "Temple Town" of Goa, since it has a number of exclusive Hindu temples rebuilt on the original structures that were ruined by the Portuguese during their invasion. Goa's five most significant Hindu temples are on the inland route between Panaji and Margao.
